It's The Final Countdown

On December 1st we will hear if Lucas has been accepted to any of the schools he has interviewed at. Needless to say, we are both nervous and excited. I was able to go with him to his interviews in Las Vegas, Nevada and Loma Linda, California.

Yes, that is a margarita in Luke's hand. No, it is not his! We asked some guy to take our picture and he insisted that we hold HIS margarita for the picture. We were cracking up.

We just got back from California on Thursday. We actually visited Loma Linda in May on our way home from vacation with Chase and Tatum before Lucas had even taken the DAT.

We couldn't leave Cali without getting a frozen banana and Balboa Bar. We were hoping to see George Michael Bluth though.

I want the wishbone...

Anybody take Prep Choir at Taylor Jr. High? I go to choir with the girl I work with at Taylor and they just started practicing, "Wishbone," for the Winter concert. I laughed so hard when they started singing that song because I sang it in seventh grade. Then, I felt old but I got over it quickly because I remembered the day Mrs. Tellef held try outs for the solos...."START!" I think D and I almost wet our pants. Good times.

Luke has already had two interviews and they went really well. The first was at the school here in Mesa and the second was in Michigan. Next week, I don't have to work and get to go with him to Las Vegas for his third interview. If you need us, we'll be at the Venetian. Happy October Break!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times

Well, summer's over and Luke and I have started our last year at ASU. We had a very uneventful summer because Lucas lived in the library. He studied his little butt off day and night for three months. We didn't see much of each other, which was not fun, but his hard work paid off. Luke rocked the DAT! He's already got interviews lined up for the upcoming semester.

Here's the smarty pants all clean shaven with his test scores. I kind of miss his scruffy beard.

I'm not a fan of midnight movies anymore for three reasons. I usually fall asleep, I hate when people yell out during the film, and high school kids bug me. However, I heart Harry Potter and have gone to all the movies at midnight. Luke so kindly accompanied me even though his test was days away and he should have been sleeping.

I didn't work all summer and enjoyed it...our bank account didn't. It's hard to find a summer job, but now that school is back in session I'm back to work. However, I'm not back at my beloved Field Elementary this year. I'm at my old stomping grounds of Taylor Jr. High this semester, working one-on-one with a student with special needs. I absolutely love it, but I do miss the students and teachers at Field.

Luke and I said goodbye to a family member this summer.

We traded in Lola and got a new car! It was a bitter sweet experience for sure. Many good memories were made with that car. Thanks for keeping Ellie and me safe Lola, even when your brakes didn't work.

Hooray for new cars!

Last but not least, Luke and I moved. We said goodbye to our first home at the end of July. We also said goodbye to the cockroaches, spiders, weeds, stray cats, coyotes, skunks, and thirty minutes drive that accompanied good old campus housing. Now, we're just working, schooling, and saving for dental school.

Seventeen days...

One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Prescott with my family for the Fourth of July. We used to go up for the parade in the morning and hang out at the courthouse for the rest of the afternoon. They have tons of little shops, boot races down Whiskey Row, and lots of yummy food. It is the cutest little town and you got to love the weather! Luke and I tagged along with my parents this year to celebrate. Murphy's was delicious as always. I love the buildings and houses. The courthouse. My dad has a lot more pictures on his blog. After hanging out in Prescott, we drove up to Jerome.
We had so much fun, thanks mom and dad.

Now, if you haven't noticed...this guy has got a sweet beard going on. He's been growing this beauty out since the end of May. I told him not to shave it until he takes the DAT (Dental Admission Test) which happens to be in SEVENTEEN DAYS! Wish him luck.
